On a mild rainy day, two women who first met as teenage girls decided to meet for a casual talk at a café.Hurdles occurred on one side due to rain, improperly laid roads, and freshly formed potholes. After a bit of struggle, we finally ended up meeting at a vibrant, highly dynamic café attached to an escape room and a gaming zone.

As I reached first, I had a glance at the menu and instantly disliked it.I didn’t like the seating either, nor the transformation of colors changing within such a limited range of space.Henceforth, as soon as I saw her, I expressed my views. We decided we should have a dish here before going to another place for lunch.

We ordered a starter, and surprisingly, it was good. We clicked a few pictures and then moved further for lunch to a different location called Southern Spice.

It was vintage, clean, and breathable with mild hues of colors. A couple of walls had art pieces arranged in a formation. Special mention to the door — it was huge, vintage, and carried a sense of royalty. We ordered one main course and a dessert called Apricot Delight. Both were pretty good, and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience of having such a delightful meal with her.

Though I liked the ambiance, food, and vibe with the person, I loved their cutlery more. The brass plate and dishes were my love. Now all I want is a brass tea glass and the holder.

This meet was altogether a different experience — from the two girls who used to roam on her scooty in suburban locations of Vanasthalipuram and L.B. Nagar to now being in a popular urban location with confidence.

It was special in many ways:

1.   This time she was driving the car, which was a long-term dream for both of us.

2.   We were in a whole different location, the happening part of the city, which we had never bothered to visit before.

3.   The comfort we had was definitely a level up. We both wore casuals.

4.   From the things we used to talk about to the things we are doing now, we have come a long way.

5.   Of course, I can’t excuse her for forgetting my pink band (much more important than most people).

A part of me keeps thinking about how time flew, how much we have seen together, and how much we shared over the years. To see the dynamic process of someone’s life so closely and finally see their happiest version is such a bliss.I still believe life will throw new problems, but now we may deal with them in a much better way.

The sense of understanding life at a deeper level and the basic human perspective towards it has gradually changed over the years.A girl talk with the right person is more than therapy — you can talk about anything and everything. It’s almost never-ending until one of you checks the time.

Speaking about how to plan life in the future and what expectations we have left me with a sense of hope.I didn’t personally connect all the dots, as I still leave certain blanks in my life empty, afraid of people. But I am happy to have seen someone’s life closely till today — getting this far itself feels like an accomplishment to me.

I was feeling blank, with voids and grey areas in my life. I particularly didn’t feel like filling them — I simply didn’t feel any emotion towards them.

The drive back home in her car, listening to old songs that we could vibe with more than today’s playlists, was a whole different kind of joy. I must say, it was damn worth it, and I personally felt good.

“Sense and sensibility—sometimes it’s the smallest moments, shared with the right person, that shape us the most. Today felt like a living proof of what I’ve always believed: even the tiniest acts can echo far into the future. I want to hold on to these moments, and I wish for many more to come. Maybe life is simply about how we choose to prioritize what truly matters.”
